West Coast Hybrids

This new Canadian company offers a CAR-certified I110 motor.

It's a 38mm monotube floating-injector system with some very interesting innovations!

No igniter grain is necessary. One milligram of BP or Pyrodex is loaded into a well at the top of the injector, wetted with a (supplied) bonding agent, and covered with a paper cap. This performs the chore of burning through the fill hose at ignition and does the preheating duty as well.

A 5/32 fill hose is supplied with each fuel grain. The hoses have a pre-crimped ferrule for the compression fitting already attached. This makes the motors very consistent by assuring that the injector orifice will always be the same size (as long as you don't over tighten the fitting).

Finally, the injector is designed to help gasify the NOX as it comes through, so more of the fuel grain surface can combust.

(This information is from a conversation with Scott Harrison, the designer of the motor. As soon as I get one, I'll upload pictures.)
