| The PentaMAX is a two-casing set with a unique five-port injector. The shorter casing is a J motor, the longer casing is a K. The center port of the injector contains the fill line; the outer ports are closed by loops of nylon pressure tubing during filling. When the motor is fired, the loops burn off along with the fill line, releasing NOX through all five ports. Two of the five ports can be plugged to vary the thrust level and burn time of the motor, so you get a total of four motor combinations out of the casing set: two Js and two Ks. |  |

The motors will be certified and go into production in the fall of 2003.
Designed for either pyrotechnic or GOX-based ignition, the PentaMAX hybrid motor system does not require hazmat storage or a LEUP. The unique five-head injector allows you to select thrust levels by plugging two injector ports. Reload kits include polypropylene fuel grain, nylon fill hoses, and (in the US) preheater/igniter. |
